Poets and writers from around Puget Sound will be gathering in Auburn this Sunday for a literary event that’s one of Auburn’s biggest ever, and part of the Auburn Good Ol’ Days Festival. The event takes place in the Auburn Avenue Theater and is hosted by Auburn’s Striped Water Poets.

Among the writers taking part are Seattle playwright, poet and novelist Michael Schein (“Bones Beneath our Feet,”) and poets James Bertolino, Lana Ayers and Peggy Barnett. Events include open mike readings, workshops, presentations and a small press fair.

Here’s the schedule:

10 a.m.-12 p.m. Workshop on writing poems about art.

12-12:30 p.m. Presentation from Robert Blevins of Adventure Books

12:45-2 p.m. Poets James Bertolino, Lana Ayers, Kathy Green, Jeff Lair

2-3 p.m. Poets Peggy Barnett, Christopher J. Jarmick, Michael Schein

3-5 p.m. Open mike poetry contest
