The Pacific Northwest family-based performing group Magical Strings is offering a summer camp in harp and dulcimer for all ages next weekend. The camp is held at the Olalla home of the Boulding family, whose members make up the Celtic string ensemble, and campers may camp on the property or stay in Olalla, Purdy, Gig Harbor or Port Orchard.

All ages and levels are accepted, and Celtic harps and hammered dulcimers may be rented. Philip and Pam Boulding, who have been performing, teaching, composing and making instruments since 1978, will be teaching along with five assistants. Instruction will cover playing technique, improvisation, arranging and ornamentation.

The Magical Strings Summer Camp runs July 22-24 in Olalla. Cost $295/instrument rental $35. 253-857-3716, www.magicalstrings.com

Magical Strings will also have a display booth and will be performing at the Gig Harbor Summer Arts Festival this weekend along Judson Drive, Gig Harbor.
