Seattle Dance fest

Beginning today the 6th Seattle International Dance Festival offers contemporary dance from Iraq, Japan, Mexico and the United States along South Lake Union until June 19. Art on the Fly is free: 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. today at 410 Terry Ave. plaza, 12-6 p.m. June 11 at streetcar stops. Inside programs are at 7:30 p.m./8 p.m. each evening, $17 advance/$20 at door at Raisbeck Hall, 2015 Boren Ave., Seattle. www.thresholdfestival.org

“Flora and Fine Arts” at TAM

Tacoma Art  Museum plays host to “Flora and Fine Arts,” a collaborative show with the Tacoma Garden Club featuring floral arrangements inspired by Northwest art, talks, workshops and more. Reception 6-8 p.m. tonight, $40; then open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 11 and 12 with talks at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. June 11. Admission $10/$8/free for five and under and all day June 12. Hilltop Artists glass sale

The annual spring glass sale by the Hilltop Artists in Residence is a great chance to get blown, fused and jewelry glass art at great prices, and benefit the HART student glass program at the same time. TSO Chorus sings of peace and justice

The Tacoma Symphony Chorus, directed by Dr. Geoffrey Boers, will sing a concert Saturday night highlighting music of peace and justice to honor the work done by the Hilltop-based Peace Community Center. Works include John Rutter’s “Requiem,” plus music by Moses Hogan, James Taylor, U2 and others, and children from the center will perform their own poetry. 7:30 p.m. June 11. $15.
