The Peninsula Art League, a league of local artists, presents its eighth annual open juried art show, opening today at the Gig Harbor Civic Center through Nov. 19. The show features more than 85 paintings by local and regional artists, selected by Portland-based watercolorist and juror Ron Ranson.

The exhibition is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and private docent-led tours are available. The British-born Ranson will also teach a two-day watercolor workshop this weekend, sponsored by PAL.

For tours, call 253-549-2358. For workshop entry, call 253-858-9388. The Gig Harbor Civic Center is located at 3510 Grandview Dr., Gig Harbor. www.peninsulaartleague.com
