Maritime Fest

Lelavision and more on Vashon

Two energetic and original circus-based events are happening on Vashon this weekend. On Saturday night human jazz meets physical music as Christian Swenson performs with musical sculpture circus duo Lelavision at their studio. Then on Sunday a Vashon family hosts the outdoor circus and performance event “The Gravity of Kindness,” featuring Lelavision, Umo and more.

Mavi Gallery’s first show

Claudia Riedener tiles at Mary Boze Gallery

Tacoma tile artist Claudia Riedener, who has permanent work at Masa and South Tacoma library, is showing her ceramic botanicals at the Mary Boze Gallery. Riedener’s work shows both her horticultural training and soft, Art Nouveau style sculpted on a flat tile base. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday-Friday through Sept. 29. Free.
