Back by popular demand this Saturday is the Pierce County Sketchcrawl, where folks who love to draw gather in Puyallup and tour the town with sketchbooks and pencils.

The Puyallup group is organized by local artist Frances Buckmaster, and meets at 9 a.m. at Forza Coffee on 210 W. Pioneer Ave. near Pioneer Park (look for people sporting art gear). Small groups then disperse to draw and share work around Pioneer Park, a site of Puyallup’s extensive outdoor sculpture gallery.

The Sketchcrawl is part of an international day of sketchcrawling (sign up for the forum at sketchcrawl.com) and makes a communal activity out of something usually more solitary. The Crawl ends whenever participants want to stop. Bring lightweight art supplies, a stool, comfortable clothing, a picnic lunch, coffee money, water and sunscreen.
