Want to write a book? Can’t start? Too many rejections? Tacoma’s Poet Laureate is coming to your rescue with a self-publishing workshop this Sunday at Urban Grace Church. A self-published author herself (“The Vicissitudes” (2009, Pearle Publications) included several poems that won her the Laureateship this year), Tammy Robacker has lined up two other published writers to help you out of your rut.

“Indie Lit Chicks on Publishing” is open to poets and writers of all styles, and features Robacker, who also was co-editor of poetry anthology “In Tahoma’s Shadow,” zine creator Zoe Zolbrod whose novel “Currency” was just released, and Gina Frangello, small press editor and author of newly release “The Slut Lullabies.” The workshop includes lectures, a Q&A with the speakers, author readings, book signings and more, and will cover topics like finding courage, making a commitment, getting funding, creative marketing and the nuts and bolts of self-publication.

The workshop, part of Robacker’s Poet Laureate writing workshop series, is from 2-4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at Urban Grace Church, 902 Market St., Tacoma. There’s a suggested donation of $10. Email RSVP to tamsugah@aol.com. Information: www.tammyrobacker.com
