This Thursday a public Theater District Association Town Hall meeting will be held to discuss revitalization strategies for Tacoma’s theater district. The meeting, entitled “Talking Truth / Engaging New Urbanism in the Theater District,” is the second such conversation planned bimonthly by the Theater District Association.

Items discussed will include updates on the Elks-McMenamins project, the Winthrop, Commerce Street aesthetic enhancements, the Ben Gilbert Park mural project, the Baker Street landscaping project and fund-raiser, the secondnd annual Urban Garage Sale, the Theater District block party, and more. As well, a presentation by Seong Shin will illustrate a neighborhood renaissance program in Stockholm, Sweden that is being used as a model for sustainable cities globally.

The meeting will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 27 at Urban Grace Church, 902 Market Street, Tacoma, and is open to the public.
