The road to Sunrise opens Friday morning but visitors to the popular destination in the northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park should expect few services.
Chief ranger Chuck Young said crews have been able to clear snow from the road and some of the facilities at Sunrise, allowing the road to open. The downside is that there will be minimal services until a week from now.
“They’re working to get the water system going, but it’s not ready,” Young said.
