Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic is a rite of passage for thousands

This weekend I had the honor to ride the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic with my wife, Kristen. We bought her a bike when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008 to give her something to look forward to and a vehicle for doing something impressive post cancer.

Seattle to Portland Bicycle registration to reopen on Monday

After selling out quicker than ever this year, the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic will reopen registration Monday at 12:01 a.m. This is a new opportunity the Cascade Bicycle Club is offering this season.

“We expect that registrations will go quickly, so be sure to mark your calendar if you have your heart set on joining 10,000 other riders for the largest multi-day bicycling event in the Northwest,” the club wrote in an email distributed to cyclists Tuesday night.

The 200-mile STP, which winds through Pierce and Thurston counties on its first day, sold out in February this year.
