Mount Rainier shuttle bus service start delayed until June 29

Mount Rainier National Park officials just announced that the free shuttle service will begin on June 29 rather than Friday.

“Due to funding, we have chosen to delay the start up date one week, rather than cut the service at the end of the season when the visitation and ridership is higher,” said Donna Rahier, a park spokeswoman.

The park runs two shuttle routes. One will run from Longmire to Paradise on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The other route will carry visitors from Ashford to Longmire on Saturdays and Sundays.

Mount Rainier shuttle service resumes service Friday

Visitors to Mount Rainier National Park will again be able to ride free visitor shuttles into the park from Ashford, and from Longmire and Paradise during the summer.

The shuttles will begin running Friday.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the shuttle will run between Longmire and Paradise with stops at Cougar Rock and Narada Falls on the uphill run, and stopping at Comet Falls and Cougar Rock on the downhill run. At Longmire, visitors can board the shuttle at the historic Longmire Gas Station.
