Fishing report: Weekend outlook filled with sun, warm temps

Good weather in the weekend forecast should bring plenty of people out to local lakes, coastal beaches for a razor clam dig and to rivers looking to hook a steelhead. The National Weather Service is predicting mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid-60s Saturday and Sunday. Could it be that spring fishing is finally here?

Chelan: Anglers are catching a pretty decent number of lake trout one day and struggle the next. The area above the Yacht Club and in the flat below Wapato Point have been the best locations. Trolling at 1.2-1.7mph down within 5 feet of the bottom triggered the bite.

Washington: The south end of Mercer Island is producing some cutthroat trout. People are trolling with herring behind a

On Friday he landed a 42-pound chinook while trolling off Point Dalco with his dad Don Tarabochia and family friend Jim Holly. Tarabochia said he was trolling a flasher and spoon set up.

“When the fish emerged from the green depths, my first comment was, ‘Is the water magnifying the fish that much?!’ Turns out it really was that big of a brute, Tarabochia said.

In addition to the photos, Tarabochia has another momento from
