Cle Elum girls takes third in archery program’s essay contest

Carolyn Free of Cle Elum, received $500 towards a college education for her third-place essay about how archery changed her life. The Remington Outdoor Foundation awarded $3,000 in scholarships as a partner in the National Archery in the Schools Program.

The winners were announced at the 2010 NASP National Tournament, the world’s largest archery tournament, held May 7-8 in Louisville, Ky.

“The National Archery in the Schools Program helped change these students’ lives, and now these inspirational young people are poised to do great things themselves,” said Jim Moore, president of the Remington Outdoor Foundation, in a news release.
