Fishing report: Trout lakes continue to fish well

Here are some highlights from the fishing report that will appear in Saturday’s paper.

Lakes
American: Look for the rainbow trout holding among the weeds in shallow water. Try using yellow Power Bait on a 4-foot leader. Some of the fish are topping 20 inches long.

Munn: The lake is still fishing well for trout. Go with white leeches fished on an intermediate- or fast-sink line.

Offut: The fishing for trout has improved, with most people catching their limits of rainbow trout. Some people are catching their limits in close to an hour. Dock anglers are using worms and

Fishing report: River levels dropping

Here are some of the highlights from the fishing report that will appear in Wednesday’s Sports section.

Rivers

Minter: The chum fishing has been very good, with people catching some bright fish among the darker fish. There are lots of fish in the creek, making it hard to not foul hook some.

Nisqually: The reports have shown the fishing has improved along with the weather. People are catching some limits of bright chum.

Olympic Coast: The first of the winter-run steelhead are showing up in the rivers around Forks and the action has been pretty good.

Fishing report: Opportunities improve

Here are some of the highlights from the fishing report that will appear in Wedneday’s Sports section..

Rivers

Cowlitz: Anglers are catching fall chinook, but they are being released due to their condition or they are wild fish. People also are catching coho primarily near the salmon hatchery. Some searun cutthroat trout and steelhead were caught around the trout hatchery.

Green: People are catching coho and chum are all over the river, as well as some trout. There are plenty of fish between Metzler Park and Flaming Geyser State Park. Try swinging purple and pink leeches.
