Nick Hall: Crystal Mountain avalanche dog helped in recovery of ranger

Cirrus,  a Crystal Mountain avalanche dog, assisted in Thursday recovery of climbing ranger Nick Hall’s body on Mount Rainier.

Kim Kircher, a member of the Crystal Mountain Ski Patrol, said the dog helped the recovery team find Hall’s body in short time. Hall died on June 21 when he fell while rescuing four injured climbers. Weather and avalanche hazard kept rangers from recovery Hall’s body for two weeks. Hall’s body was covered by several feet of snow.

“Cirrus and handler Brent Okita arrived on scene in a military helicopter and were able to find Hall in a very short time,” Kircher

Crystal Mountain ski patroller Kim Kircher will hold Dec. 17 signing to promote her book “The Next 15 Minutes”

From Crystal Mountain:

Author Kim Kircher will be signing copies of her new book, “The Next 15 Minutes,” at Crystal Mountain Resort on December 17. The public book signing will be followed by a private reception with the author at the Bullwheel Restaurant and Bar.
“The Next 15 Minutes” is a memoir that takes readers on a wild ride of salvation, trying to find answers to a scary diagnosis on the ski slopes. She utilizes her training on the slopes to survive her most terrible crisis yet- waiting for a liver transplant to save her husband’s life.
