A Canadian man was rescued high on Mount Rainier on Sunday evening after falling and suffering “multiple traumatic injuries,” Mount Rainier National Park announced this morning. The man was taken by Chinook helicopter to Madigan Army Medical Center.
Park spokeswoman Patti Wold identified the victim as Peter Almerling of British Columbia, reported The Associated Press. No additional details on Almerling were available.
According to the park statement, the man fell while descending at 13,500 feet above sea level on the Emmons Glacier. The incident was reported to Camp Schurman, where climbing rangers are stationed, …
