Hikers will be able to hike all of Comet Falls Trail at Mount Rainier National Park, closed since June 12, starting Tuesday morning. The last part of the trail was closed by a wash-out about a mile from the trailhead that took out a chunk of trail 10 feet across and 30 feet deep.
Park trail crews and volunteers from Washington Trails Association built a short path around the washed out section.
But the opening comes with one dangerous caveat, said ranger Daniel Keebler.
