Grand Canyon hiker indicted for child abuse

On August 28th, rangers contacted a man hiking with his three juvenile grandsons and found reason to believe that he was physically abusing them. They asked for a special agent to assist and a joint investigation was begun. On September 20th, a federal grand jury in Phoenix returned a six count indictment against Christopher Carlson, 45, for knowing child abuse committed under circumstances likely to produce death or serious bodily injury.
