Family members of a Mount Rainier National Park ranger who died while rescuing injured climbers say they are “grieving and celebrating” Nick Hall.
His father, Carter Hall, told The Associated Press from his home in Maine that the family is proud of his career in mountain rescue. He says they hope his loss draws attention to the hazards and safety requirements of the sport he so loved.
A park spokesman says rangers are hoping weather will permit a helicopter to recover Hall’s body Friday and to pick up the last member of the party he helped
