Camp Muir webcam up and running for the season

Officials at Mount Rainier National Park have announced that the Camp Muir webcam is up and running again for the summer season.

You can check out the image here.

Camp Muir sits on the shoulder of 14,411-foot Mount Rainier, at an elevation of 10,188 feet (3,000 meters).

In the current view, looking south over some of the Camp Muir buildings and the Tatoosh range you can see Mount St. Helens on the right and Mount Adams on the horizon on the left.

Check out the view from new Camp Muir webcam

Folks who poke around the Mount Rainier website might have come across this already, but staff at Mount Rainier National Park today announced a new webcam at Camp Muir is operational and available online to the public.

A park press release said the webcam is the highest in the state and one of the most remote in the United States.

The project was a cooperative effort between the National Park Service, the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center and Dan Howlett of NoHow, Inc.
