Get your outdoor club’s info into our special section

We are preparing a special section on summer outdoor recreation options in Western Washington. One element of the content will be a listing of outdoors groups in the South Sound.

So, here’s the deal. Your group can get a free mention in the section, but you have to send us the information.

Here is what we would you like to send us: club name, main activity you participate in, major event club hosts; general meeting time and location; website and/or phone number.

Websites to watch transit of Venus today


UPDATE 4:15 P.M.

Thanks to a parting of the clouds, and my cheapo telescope and a piece of white paper on which to view the image, I was able to see Venus as it began its transit across the face of the sun this afternoon.

If you can get to a local viewing site, I would recommend doing so. It’s kind of cool to see this small black dot as it makes it way across the face of the sun. Looking through a much better, bigger telescope with filters should produce some great images.
