Starting Saturday, the 16 kokanee daily limit at Cle Elum Lake has been eliminated and replaced with a daily limit of five trout including kokanee.

The change was announced Thursday to protect sea-going sockeye salmon being reintroduced to the upper Cle Elum basin.

The 7-inch minimum and 14-inch maximum size for kokanee remains in effect. The 12-inch minimum size for other trout species also remains unchanged.
