People looking to Mount Rainier National Park as an escape from the  current heatwave, best be prepared for a challenging hike.

The National Weather Service forecast for Longmire (2,700 feet elevation) calls for a high Tuesday of 90 degrees. At Paradise, (5,400 feet), the high is expected to be 82 degrees. It is a Camp Muir, at 10,188 feet and a 4-5 hour hike from Paradise, where temperatures will reach a cool 50 degrees.
