Whatcom Creek will reopen Feb. 1

Whatcom Creek will reopen to fishing for all species on Feb. 1, the state Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced.

The opening covers from the mouth to Woburn Street Bridge.

The state said broodstock collection of hatchery winter steelhead will be completed by Feb. 1. Hatchery steelhead not retained at the hatchery by this date are available for harvest.
