The day-use area and first campground loop at Penrose Point State Park have reopened. State Parks and Recreation made the announcement earlier this afternoon.

Work has been taking place since September as the park has gone through a sewer system upgrade.

State Parks officials noted that the trail dump station and boat pumpout are expected to be closed through Feb. 8.

The park is located on the east side of Key Peninsula, at the head of Mayo Cove.
