Officials at Gifford Pinchot National Forest are reporting there is 14-18 Inches of snow above the 3,000-foot elevation line.
Substantial amounts of snow have fallen at higher evevations all over the forest, said a news release. This can be an issue for anyone planning to hunt, fish or camp on the forest.
Remember toe take chains or other traction devices when heading into the forest. Carry shovels, water, food and extra clothing. Let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return.
