The state Department of Natural Resources just announced it will reopen Ahtanum Meadows and Ahtanum Campground at 5 p.m. on Thursday. They will be accessible by the North Fork Ahtanum Road.

The sites were temporarily closed a week ago to assist with fire suppression efforts at the Diamond Butte Fire.

The Middle Fork Road, which accesses Tree Phones Campground and Whites Ridge Trailhead, will continue to be closed during the week, but will reopen from 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 8 p.m. It will be closed on Labor Day.
