New Peace Out fun run to debut June 2 at Chambers Bay Golf Course

The Peace Out 5k Fun Run & Walk
When: Saturday, June 2, 2012, 9:00 a.m.
Where: Chambers Bay Golf Course public trails. 9850 64th St. W. University Place, WA 98467
Why: Fundraiser for local 501(c)(3) non-profit Peace Out,
Who: Peace Out is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing world-wide philanthropy teaching teens how to use resources available to them now to raise funds for the causes they support. In the process, teens learn about the needs of others in their community and in the world, and learn how to rally their own skills and resources to solve the problems they discover.  Peace Out runs four to five eight-week sessions per year during which teens learn the structure, formation, and purpose of non-profits, choose non-profits they want to help and support, and then raise funds and awareness for those non-profits.  Students earn community service hours that can be applied toward school graduation and other requirements.
The Peace Out 5k Fun Run & Walk to be held on the public trails at the beautiful and highly acclaimed Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. The 5k will raise money for the burgeoning non-profit based in Pierce County.
The run Will be held on a fast and rolling paved course with a memorable uphill finish.  The entry fee of $25 includes a commemorative t-shirt.  Day-of-race registration is $30, including a t-shirt if available.  Additional donations are welcomed and can be made directly to Peace Out or as part of the online registration process at  Donations of $100 or more will receive free race entry, a race t-shirt, a Peace Out hoody, and a receipt for the donation.
