The South Fork Toutle River will close to fishing beginning March 16, the state Department of Fish and Wildlife announced today.

The closure, effective through June 1, covers all species from the river mouth to the 4100 Road Bridge.

The action increases the steelhead spawning closure by two weeks to further protect wild steelhead. It also matches spawning closure for steelhead in other Region 5 streams.
