Mount Rainier National Park open, sort of

If you can get out of your neighborhood and want to get out of town, Mount Rainier National Park is an option for the day. Sort of.

The park is open but the main road is closed at the Nisqually entrance, said park spokeswoman Patti Wold.

“I heard that a few hardy souls were walking up to Westside Road from the entrance,” she said.

    Did you read your own report? Closed at the Nisqually Entrance–the only entrance. So where do you park? At the Gateway Inn–not public parking. The Park is closed, with the roads plowed from the entrance to Paradise. But why you would want to go to Paradise in this weather …
