UPDATE: THIS UPDATE HAS A NEW ADDRESS FOR MAILING DONATIONS TO KEYBANK. The address previously posted also works.
For those making donations by mail, send donations to KeyBank: Margaret Anderson Donation Account, P.O. Box 159, Eatonville, WA 98328. Make checks payable to Margaret Anderson Donation Account.
KeyBank cannot process donations over the phone. To make a donation electronically contact your bank and asked to have the money sent to the address above.
Donations can be made in person at any KeyBank branch nationwide.
Donations in lieu of flowers have been requested from those wishing to express their support of Margaret Anderson’s family, Mount Rainier National Park spokesman Kevin Bacher said Tuesday night. An account in Anderson’s name has been established at KeyBank.
Anderson is survived by her husband, Eric, and 3- and 1-year-old daughters.
It’s still difficult to think about. Keep strong Anderson family. RIP Ranger Margaret

Correction needed.
It’s KeyBank – not Kaybank.
Who are the checks to be made out to?

I am trying to make a donation on the phone, but the number provided above goes to customer service. I was on hold for 22+ minutes, and the phone reps claim they can’t find Cindy West in the KeyBank directory, can’t find this Donation Account in their system, and may not be able to process a donation on the phone.
The manager just told me that they have had a lot of calls come through about this today and they aren’t filled-in on this situation. I’m not saying Cindy West and this donation account doesn’t exist, I’m saying that KeyBank doesn’t have their ducks in a row on this just yet, and thenewstribune should have called the number they posted to see if it was valid.
If anyone has information on Cindy West’s direct contact info from her Tacoma branch, that’d be greatly appreciated. I’ll post any more information I get from Key, along with an online donation link if they provide one.

The article above answers questions on donating to this fund. Apart from the Salvation Army I rarely donate to any cause. I will drop something off at the local KeyBank for Margaret. My own daughter has a 3 year and a 1 year old child so I feel especially touched by this loss.
Please don’t jump on me but I feel sorry for the killer’s family, too. What a shadow his child will have to grow up under.
