Members of the South Sound Fly Fishers are looking for others to join them in a cleanup project Saturday along the Nisqually River.
The group will be working from 10 a.m.-noon. Organizers said they will be focusing on removing discarded fishing lines, hooks, lead weights and packaging from the river bank and shallow water. They will be working in the vicinity of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife handicap river access.
Garbage bags and thin rubber gloves will be provided. Volunteers can bring heavier gloves if they want, as well as a pocket knife for cutting tangled fishing line from branches and logs.
