So, I’m writing about the increased creativity of geocachers in Sunday’s News Tribune and Olympian and as part of the project we’ve stashed two geocaches around the Northwest.

For you loyal readers of this blog, we’re giving you a head start. We’re registering the caches with on Saturday so this is your chance to sneak in there and be the “first to find.”

What’s geocaching. Check out Sunday’s article, but in the meantime visit

Ready to try geocaching? The Adventure Guys have stashed two caches around the South Sound area to get you started. Plug in the coordinates below into your GPS receiver and go find them. Sign the log book and, if you choose, record your find at Those who sign the register will be entered in a drawing for a prize. We’ll announce the winners on The Adventure Guys blog on Nov. 13.

The link from the main page has “geocashes” rather then the correct “geocaches” if you would care to fix it. . .

  2. And they’ve hidden “to” of them.

Thanks guys. That’s what I get for posting after 11 p.m. on a Friday. Past my bedtime.

UPDATE: At the moment, has not yet reviewed out caches. Not sure when they’ll get to it, but the caches are out there and the above coordinates will get you there. … You just might have to wait a bit before you can log them on

    Good luck.

You guys are fast. Congratulations on the first to find.

  6. I made it to the Adventure Guys II cache on Saturday afternoon. It was my first cache ever. It took me an hour using my old hiking gps from about 1990. I forgot a pen but found someone nearby that had one I could borrow. I found a logbook to enter my name and it started raining! I didn’t see any other names. Are they being taken out and collected? Anyway, it was fun trying to use my hiking gps for the first time on the road. It is only accurate to 2 decimal places so I got fairly close and then had to guess the location.
