IRONMAN 70.3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Henderson, Nev.Heidi Hubler, a 37-year-old Bonney Lake resident and elementary school teacher, just finished her first appearance at the Ironman 70.3 (half Ironman) world championships in a time of 5 hours, 28 minutes, 7 seconds. She finished 40th in her age group and made up ground throughout the cycling and running legs. She was 49th after the swim and 44th after the bike portion.

WORLD AGE-GROUP TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIPS Beijing, China
Alycia Hill, 22, of Tacoma won her age group at the World Championships on Saturday. Her 56-year-old father, Doug, also “appeared to finish first” in his age group, Alysia Hill, said via email. Alycia has leave the race Sunday in order to get back home in time to start a new job on Monday.
