A new “Puppy Cam” located at the historic kennels at Denali National Park went online last month.

The camera is installed in the pen where three sled dog puppies were born July 27-28.

The image refreshes about once each minute.

Three pups – Tatum (female), Koven and Carpe (both males) – were named for three small peaks along Carpe Ridge above the Muldrow Glacier.

The camera gives viewers a chance to see and learn more about the important purpose, traditions and responsibilities that sled dogs still have at Denali, the only national
park in America with a working sled dog kennel. Since the park was founded
in 1917, sleds pulled by dog teams continue to be the most effective means
for park rangers to patrol vast areas of designated wilderness during the
winter.
