Fitness columnist overcomes fear of Zumba

I stepped way out of my comfort zone recently and took a Zumba class. I have no rhythm so I figured this would be embarrassing, but I was wrong.  Don’t get me wrong, I was terrible. But the instructors at Zumba Maniacs made me feel comfortable. So why was doing this? I’ve been told by fitness pros that many people don’t like to try group fitness classes – even though they are often free at their local gyms – because they don’t want to embarrass themselves. I want to prove that these classes are very welcoming to first-timers even if you are really, really bad. And trust me, there are very few things worse than me trying to dance.

My wife, who happens to love Zumba, took some pictures. I posted them on our Facebook page and I’m letting you have some fun at my expense. Visit the page and recommend a caption for any of the photos. Funniest caption wins a prize (a Latin dance workout video). NOTE: You’ll have to click “like” on the Adventure Guys page in order to comment on the photos.
