Winter wonderland at Paradise

This is a view of Mount Rainier taken this morning from a webcam at Paradise. (National Park Service)
This is what winter should look like, snow-flocked trees, Mount Rainier in the background – not the mix of ice, snow, spun-out cars and traffic backups that have plagued the South Sound the last few days.

And if you thought it was cold while warming up your car this morning, it was 0 degrees at Paradise and -2 degrees at Camp Muir at 7 this morning. There also was 65 inches of snow on the ground at Paradise this morning.

If you’re looking for a place to play after Thanksgiving, there is snow in the forecast through the weekend at Paradise. Bundle up, though, because the highs will reach only the mid teens.
