The Gig Harbor Fly Shop is moving to a new, larger store, across the street from its present location.

Owner Blake Merwin announced that the shop open in its new spot, 3115 Harborview Dr., on Jan. 1. He said it will be business as usual at the current location, 3100 Harborview Dr., through Christmas.

“The new space is a lot larger. It will expand our retail space by three times,” Merwin wrote in making the announcement. “We already have a list of the new tying materials we’re going to bring into the shop.”

“Not only will there be a lot more room for products and you to be comfortable, there is dedicated parking right in front and no more stairs,” he said of the current second-floor location.

The shop has been in existence for nearly a year and a half.
