500 SUMMITS: Pics from Dunn’s historic Rainier climb

Thanks to Eric Simonson of International Mountain Guides for taking these photos of George Dunn and his family during the mountaineer’s 500th Rainier summit Saturday morning. Dunn is the first person to climb the mountain 500 times. His friend, Phil Ershler, has the second most summits. Ershler climbed with Dunn on Saturday for his 44oth summit.

George, Jeremy and Nancy Dunn hike along the crater rim of Mount Rainier. It was the 500th time on top of Rainier for George Dunn. It was the first for Jeremy and the eighth for Nancy.
