The Tacoma chapter of Trout Unlimited and Puyallup River Watershed Council have announced plans for an April 17 clean up on the Puyallup River.

The event, scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to noon, will be part of Global Day of Service.

Looks like first cleanup scheduled for earth week April 17th on the Puyallup,

The cities of Sumner and Puyallup have agreed to support the effort so far, said Rosendo Guerrero, conservation director for the chapter and head of the Sportsmen for the Preservation of our Rivers and Streams.

Guerrero led a volunteer clean up last fall that helped remove a ton of trash from along the banks of the river in Puyallup.

More information will be released as details are finalized.
