The State Parks and Recreation Commission Boating Programs group needs volunteers to help staff a booth at the 2010 Seattle Boat Show.

The show runs from Jan. 29 through Feb. 6 at the Qwest Field Event Center. Show hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The show will feature more than 1,000 recreational watercraft on display, as well as seminars and boating accessories. The show also includes the Outdoor Afloat Show on South Lake Union.

Volunteers will be accompanied by staff from the program or boating-affiliated organizations to help provide information to the public, said an agency news release.

Volunteers who can stay and help with the booth for an entire day are especially needed. Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

Monday through Thursday: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 9 p.m.

Friday: 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 9 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 3 to 9 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 1 to 6 p.m.

Show volunteers will receive one pass per shift and reimbursement for parking (receipts and travel vouchers must be submitted after the show).

To volunteer for the boat show or for more information, call 360-902-8833 or 360-902-8837 or send an e-mail to or Please type SEATTLE BOAT SHOW in the subject line. Be sure to include contact information and specify what days and shifts are desired.
